GRAMMATICAL GENDER OF BULGARIAN PARALLELS OF BORROWED INDECLINABLE RUSSIAN WORDS DESIGNATING MALE PERSONS

Abstract

In the newest Bulgarian dictionaries of words of foreign origin the grammatical gender of these words is not indicated; while the gender is indicated in older dictionaries, these dictionaries lack the latest borrowings, which sometimes leads to difficulties in communication. Thus, in the present study, we use various computer resources, trying to determine the grammatical gender of Bulgarian parallels of borrowed indeclinable Russian words designating male persons, words of male grammatical gender or, in rare cases, words showing grammatical gender instability.
