The main purpose of this paper is to differentiate between two basic types of reported utterances with Dubitative verb forms in the Bulgarian language regarding the relation author of substrate speech : author of actual speech. The first type is when the author of actual speech coincides with the author of the substrate speech. And the second one is when the author of actual speech is not the author of substrate speech. Several subtypes and variants are presented and analyzed here, as we take into account the position of the collocutor (the addressee) and the object of speech in the substrate situation. In contrast to the second type, which is the main focus of most studies of the subject, the first one is rarely mentioned. However, it raises the question of the semantic invariant of the Bulgarian Dubitative.en_US
