The contemporary Spanish language, which is widely spoken on the territory of Catalonia (Spain), has surpassed significant changes at different linguistic stages, due to the ongoing interference between Catalan and Spanish languages. In the region of Catalonia, a correlation type is encountered both on the grammatical and lexical level known as change of code and alternation. This article deals with the description and meaning of the concept „interference“ in both oral variations of the languages.
