The subject of this survey is the categorical status of the French pluperfect as a marked resultative or relative grammeme and the formal-semantic opposition with the unmarked grammemes of non-resultativeness or nonrelativity within the morphological categories of type of the activity and taxis and the possible translation equivalents in Bulgarian. Pluperfect is resultative present tense of the marked taxis grammeme of relativity (= the reference of the verbal content to a point in the past). The simultaneity of the result from an activity regarding a past statement is the private and the main meaning of the unmarked member of the time – present tense, so from a temporal perspective, pluperfect is the unmarked degree of the present for non-subsequence.en_US
