The present paper examines Nesho Bonchev, a Bulgarian critic, in a contemporary discourse beyond the general aspects of literary historiography. It is important to appreciate N. Bonchev’s ability to think critically, for he is an original critic whose work definitely improves, by offering more accurate translation options, the text he deals with, e.g. G. Parlichev’s translation of the Iliad. The notion of the critic as artist has been taken from the essay by Oscar Wilde with the intention of using it as a working concept and a pure idea independent from the subjectively eccentric intertextual overlays.en_US
