THE CRITIC AND HIS JOURNEY TOWARDS “ODYSSEUS”
Abstract
The following report examines some of Toncho Zhechev’s critical
explorations of the 1960s. The work analyzes papers in three thematic fields –
Bulgarian authors (of the decade in question) and their works, works by Russian
classical authors and the problems surrounding the poetics of the novel. The
report’s aim is to find out how these critical reflections relate to Toncho
Zhechev’s late work, to what extent they prepare the creation of his influential
books The Bulgarian Easter or Bulgarian Passions and The Myth of Odysseus.
