OVERGENERALIZATION AND OVERREGULARIZATION IN THE VERB SYSTEM OF THE BULGARIAN INTERLANGUAGE OF FOREIGN MEDICAL STUDENTS
Abstract
The paper investigates overgeneralization and overregularization in the
interlanguage of learners of Bulgarian as a foreign language. The emphasis is on
some typical morphological errors in the L2 verb grammar, which are examined
in parallel with similar deviations in children's speech. The empirical base of the
research is a corpus of texts of foreign medical students and speech production
of Bulgarian children.
