In this paper I present the research on 10 pairs of “false friends of the translator” in German and Norwegian, based on their Proto-Germanic etymology and the semantic changes that occurred as a result of the modern development of the two languages. My aim is to try to give an answer to the relevant changes that appear, what difficulties might be pointed when learning these pairs, and if possible – an easy way to remember them by people who speak and learn German and Norwegian.en_US
