John Chrysostom“s homilies Against the Jews are part of the author“s rich heritage which belongs to the homiletic genre. They are part of the Slavic version of the collection containing Chrysostom“s homilies and sermons called „Margarit“ which appeared in the 14th century. The study focuses on the agent nouns (nomina agentis) registered in the translation of John Chrysostom“s antiJudaic homilies. The word formation process, the semantics of the lexemes and their relation to the original Greek words are traced back. The place of a particular lexeme in the vocabulary of the Bulgarian language is highlighted diachronically by examining the use of the lexeme in numerous Old Bulgarian and Middle Bulgarian written records.en_US
