EPISTOLARY CULTURE DURING THE BULGARIAN REVIVAL PERIOD AND THE FIRST PRINTED LETTERS (IN THE 1830S)
Abstract
The subject of this article is the description of the textbooks on letter writing – textbooks written by the authors Neofit Bozveli, Emmanuil Vaskidovich, and Hristaki Pavlovich and published in 1835. The main objectives of the study are to examine their structure, to describe them and to do a contrastive analysis in view of their type and suspected influences from
foreign-language sources. The complex study of lettermen will contribute to the expansion of knowledge associated with this genre in many aspects: didactic, cultural, sociolinguistic, as well as its role in the enrichment of the epistolary culture of Bulgarians.
