A WHITE SLAVE OR A VICTIM OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING – A LANGUAGE DEPICTION OF A CERTAIN CRIME
Abstract
This paper presents the results and the conclusions of an anonimous survey
conducted in 2020–2021 among 262 people between the ages of 18 and 72, who
speak Bulgarian as a native language. The questions were directed to the subject
and the object of the crime of human trafficking and the answers presented the
way of conceptualization of the crime of human trafficking in the consciousness
of the Bulgarian people. The paper proves the same way of conceptualization in
everyday speech and in public speech: human trafficking is a trade and a slavery.
