MAIN PERIODS IN THE RESEARCH OF THE PRESENT PASSIVE PARTICIPLE IN THE BULGARIAN GRAMMATICAL STUDIES FROM THE MIDDLE OF 19TH TO THE MIDDLE OF 20TH CENTURY
Abstract
The following paper traces out the main periods of the present passive
participle’s description in the Bulgarian grammatical tradition from the first
published Bulgarian grammar (Rilski 1835) to the last scientific grammar before
the reform of Bulgarian orthography in 1945 (Andreychin 1944). The aim of this
study is to examine the status of the following deverbatives in the grammatical
researches from the stated periods: either as a participle, or as an adjective; there
are even cases in which it lacks a description. The suggested topic has not been
thoroughly researched, with the exception of a few studies by H. Parvev (1970,
1975), and this paper aims to illustrate it in further details.
