The present study examines the nouns with the form -Iѥ in the Cathechism of St. Cyril of Jerusalem. (GIM, Syn. 478). The excerpted material from Syn. 478 comprises 86 nouns of -ü¬/-è¬ – (53 simplex and 33 compound nouns), of which a total of 44 lexemes were used at one time. The presented observations show that in the Old Bulgarian translation of the Annunciation of St. Cyril of Jerusalem (Syn. 478) the nouns of -ü¬/-è¬ represent a lexical layer, which reflects the normativeness, characteristic of the writers from the Preslav literary center: normativeness regarding the use of the lexemes as dictionary units, as well as the construction of composite bases according to word-formation models established in the Old Bulgarian language. The idiolect of the translator can be connected with the literary production of the most prominent representative of the Two-Jers Preslav School Konstantin Preslavski.en_US
