    Abstract
The end of the XX and the beginning of the XXI century is a period in which the development of humanities, including linguistics, results in a new, anthropocentric paradigm. This has led to the emergence of numerous studies focusing on various linguistic phenomena reflecting the culture, the worldview and the mentality of each nation. As an important component of human life and economic activity, animals are present in the cultural traditions of many nations and are associated with certain elements, seasons and forces, and their life and behavior serve as a model for human society. These processes are also reflected in the language system, thus forming a major lexical layer of animal names, widely represented in all the languages around the world. Zoolexemes are also investigated by the word formation system, which studies the specifics of their derivative potential. In the present study, the main focus is put on the formation of nomina agentis, with the aim of classifying them into derivative types and models with respect to their derivative meanings and formants with particular semantics.
