THE IMAGE OF NARCISSUS IN THE POETRY OF VYACHESLAV I. IVANOV AND KONSTANTIN D. BALMONT
Abstract
This research traces out some specifics of the perception of the image of
Narcissus in the culture of the Silver Age as presented in the poetry of
Vyacheslav I. Ivanov and Konstantin D. Balmont. The concept of beauty in
the work of two of the most notable Russian Symbolists is analyzed. The text
defines the transfiguration suffered by the ancient hero in the poetry of the
Symbolists.
