DO ALL MERMAIDS HAVE TAILS? (“INFORMATION DISTORTION” OF CULTURE-SPECIFIC MYTHONYMS)
Abstract
This work explores the twists in the meaning of the culture-specific
mythonyms jiaoren, meirenyu, fenghuang and rusalka in the Chinese and
Russian worldview. The work compares the representation of mythonyms in
modern society and the traditional perception of these characters.
