THE „LYRICAL“ MEMOIRS OF DORA GABE – MEMORY AND OBLIVION
Abstract
The research examines Dora Gabe’s memoirs, dedicated to various renown Bulgarian writers. The text follows the publishing chronology of the memoirs and that enables us to highlight the periods, during which Dora Gabe created a more significant quantity of memoir texts, and study the reasons for this. The examination of the memoirs gives us the chance to draw conclusions about what determined the poetess’s choice of who to dedicate a certain memoir to. As a result of a thorough analysis of memoirs, dedicated to Yavorov, Slaveykov, Vazov, Yovkov and others, the present research makes conclusions about the construction of memory in the narrative world of Dora Gabe’s memoirs.
