    Abstract
This article deals with Aleko Konstantinov, known for participating in a number of public initiatives, and, more specifically, with his position on current political events of 1897. Several texts are analysed, in which the author expresses his position on the fate of the Bulgarians in Macedonia. He shares his view in an official letter written in January of 1897 and addressed to an unknown person. In this letter he writes about the Macedonian reform project and the initiative of William Gladstone, aimed at finding a solution to the Macedonian question. This document is of interest because it provides information about A. Konstantinov's political reaction on the issue of Macedonia and reveals his talent as a journalist and a politician.
