ANTHOLOGIES OF FANTASTIC PROSE IN THE CONTEXT OF THE CROATIAN ANTHOLOGICAL TRADITION

Abstract

This article deals with anthologies of Croatian literature, particularly with fantastic prose anthologies. The main aim of the article is to differentiate the types of fantastic prose models, to analyze the selection and compositional criteria of the collections, and to establish the role of the anthologies for the affirmation of the canon in the genre of the fantastic narrative. According to the composition and content, the collections of fantastic prose can be classified into two anthology models: generational and panoramic. The paper also summarizes the genesis of many Croatian anthologies, predominant among which are poetic anthologies dedicated to love and patriotism.
