In Serbian the expansion of perfectum as a main narrative tense is more than obvious, especially if its usage is compared to the limited functions of the simple preterites – aorist and imperfect (in Bulgarian the situation is a little bit different). The aim of the research is to find out the answer to the question if the narration in contemporary translations of Bulgarian texts into Serbian is done only by the usage of perfect forms or by forms of another tense and if simple preterite forms are used in Serbian, to be figured out if their status is equal to the Bulgarian ones. And one more problem appears – is it possible those equivalents as structural units to be with one and the same status (like in Bulgarian and Macedonian).en_US
