dc.description.abstractThis paper traces the image of the horse in Italian cultural and literary tradition from Roman times to the present. The basic autors investigated hereby are: Marco Polo, Giovanni Boccaccio, Ludovico Ariosto, Vittorio Alfieri, Giacomo Leopardi, Giovanni Pascoli, Umberto Boccioni, Luigi Pirandello, Cesare Pavese. Of particular interest is the legend of the Neapolitan horse presented by Maria Orsini-Natale е Sebastiano Scia, as well as Sergio Claudio Perroni’s novel where we find a description of a curious detail from the Trojan War.en_US
