This paper dwells on the issue of the identity of the narrative voice in one of the most sincerely autofictional texts of modern French writer Nina Bouraoui. The novel raises questions about childhood, the role of reminiscences, the nature and the importance of the creative process in the writer’s life. The narrator carries out an auto-analysis and reflects on her « bad thoughts » as a stage of the author’s self-identification.en_US
