dc.description.abstract	In this paper I will talk about the reception of America and American literature in Bulgaria from the 19th century through till the mid 20th century. My paper does not aim at providing an exhaustive analysis of the subject; I will rather explore the way some American works were received, adapted and in some cases significantly altered by Bulgarian translators.
