    Abstract
While paying attention to the soundscapes Charles Dickens builds in Great Expectations, I offer phenomenological interpretations of them, bearing in mind the child’s viewpoint and presence. The traditional phenomenological gaze, in this case, is going to be replaced with a phenomenological “ear”. Adopting such an analytical direction, I would argue that temporality could be polymorphous and polyphonous, and that the sonorous time possesses the power of morphing the child’s identity into diverse forms and directions.
