The current study aims to examine the concept of time in the context of
psycholinguistics. For the purposes of this paper, it is important to present the
diverse ways in which time exists in different languages across the world. The
paper explores various conceptual metaphors for time perception and the
mechanisms that children use to understand time. Additionally, it examines the
Linguistic relativity hypothesis, also reffered to as the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis. In
the conclusion of this study, the results of an experiment conducted to assess
children’s perception of time are presented.
