dc.description.abstractThe everyday life during the Modern period becomes a particularly researched and discussed topic. With all of its subtopics it provokes a new thinking about the ordinary person's life. As a result of the military period “the bored person” becomes a stable topic, also boredom, indifference and apathy begin to work as protective mechanisms of the Self. The following article depicts boredom as an inevitable part of the everyday life through Svetoslav Minkov’s work “The Clock”, it considers its internal variety, as well as its productivity; the article reveals boredom as the subconscious drive of the Self and outlines its enlightening function.en_US
