The purpose of this article is not to give specific answers, but to ask some questions that refer to the relationship between literature and fine arts, between Antiquity and the Renaissance. By looking at the two works, “Metamorphoses“ and “Landscape with the Fall of Icarus“, this text will notice the appearance of the individual in art, presenting different emphases in the interpretations of them by Ovid and Pieter Bruegel the Elder. The satirization of the mythological characters in “Metamorphoses“ and “The Fall of Icarus“ will becom pared and the reasons for this satire will be explained. This article will try to mark the anonymity of the great eventand the clash of the extraordinary and the daily. The topic is wide-ranging, allows analysis of depictions of text, "reading" of pictures and is subject that could be developed.en_US
