The paper explores the sixth chapter of Stanislaw Lem’s “Summa Technologiae” in which the Polish writer deals with the theoretical dimensions of what would later become known as virtual reality. The aim of the research is quite straightforward – the text aims to highlight important moments of Lem’s work and reаctualize its intrinsic terminological and paradigmatical values. Furthermore, a new inquiry into the genre on the basis of Lem’s essays would allow for a more specific approach to pieces of fiction that deal with immersive technology.en_US
