dc.description.abstract | The topic of the little man has deep roots in the literary traditions of both Bulgaria and Russia. Although the image of a person pressed by circumstances, helpless before fate and surrounded by a hostile environment has its differences in the two traditions, the moral issues embedded in the plots, characters and conflicts are the same. Although they are representatives of different generations and different countries, the writers Yordan Yovkov and Sergei Dovlatov give us some of the best examples in this specific thematic center. In their stories, the little man is equal in magnitude to his grief. Thus, from a victim of fate, he becomes a real champion: he wins over the injustices of life and his own imperfections. | en_US |
