The paper aims to present the Bulgarian adverb niakoga (ever) and its equivalents in Romanian. The lexical units are excerpted from academic dictionaries of both of these Balkan languages. The use of the units is supported by examples from original novels and their translations, national corpora (Bulgarian National Corpus and The Reference Corpus of the Contemporary Romanian Language) and internet sources. The Bulgarian adverb niakoga appears to be composed of overlapping meanings. The paper’s focus is on the semantics of the adverb and its equivalents in Romanian and on the possibilities for their use which are briefly compared.en_US
