We examine possessive pronouns as modifiers of the periphery in the functional-semantic field of Personality in contemporary Bulgarian, English, and Spanish. Among the three examined languages, English is the only nonnull- subject language, and, accordingly, the field of Personality in English is devoid of nucleus whereas the fields of Personality in both Bulgarian and Spanish are characterized by a clearly defined nucleus and a periphery. In the article, we demonstrate the truthfulness of our initial hypothesis that suggests fewer differences in the expression of the category of Person between Bulgarian and Spanish than between Bulgarian and English.en_US
