The study compares Georgi Stamatov’s and Maria Grubeshlieva’s works from the 40s of the 20th century. It examines the male and female attitude towards the tragic phenomenon of prostitution. The fate of the fallen woman is also discussed by various Bulgarian and foreign researchers and public figures. Their attitude reveals the hypocrisy of society (from antiquity to the present day), for which everything is a commodity and a necessity.en_US
