This study presents reflections on the category of mood in Bulgarian and Spanish. The essence of the Conditional in Bulgarian is discussed, with a particular emphasis on analytical conditional forms. We conclude that the conditional forms in Bulgarian are part of the Modal system, whereas the forms considered to be conditional in Spanish are part of the Temporal system. In addition, we express our preference for the term futuro inactual for the particular verb tense in Spanish.en_US
