This paper examines the manifestation of semantic variability in the terminology of criminal procedural law. For this purpose, we use a method defined as experiential-axiological. It presents the legal term as a linguistic unit naming a concept that is conditioned by human experience and has a value orientation. Examples of polysemy, homonymy and ambisemy are given. The empirical material under investigation is drawn from both statutory acts and case law and legal doctrine.en_US
