This paper presents fragments of the language depiction of the crime of human trafficking in Bulgarian and Polish. The theoretical part of the paper is based on the definition of world language depiction according to J. Bartmiński as well as on the contemporary theory of the metaphor. The aim of the research is to analyze the language depiction of the crime of human trafficking in the linguistic context of the contemporary approach proposed by J. Lakoff. The empirical material for the analysis of the metaphorical schemes is based on Polish and Bulgarian online publications. The conceptualization of the crime of human trafficking is realized through several metaphorical schemes, the most important ones being human trafficking is a channel, human trafficking is hunting/fishing.en_US
